I was inspired to do this painting by a black and white photograph I took of this skull in one of my favorite restaurants. I have a passion for skulls of all kinds, appreciate their beauty and their archetypal qualities. Simultaneously the Daily Paintworks Challenge, The Space of Color, was posted, and that gave me that extra nudge to get going....once I started I let my imagination go...and this is what emerged. I was pleased with the outcome, and then inspired to move on to skull painting number two.....coming soon....and a series of skull paintings is born.
