So much for my 30 paintings in 30 days. Have to let this one go for now. I ran into a wall and realized that its too close to the last session in September, for me, and that I have three shows coming up that I should be focusing on. Once a year is probably all I want to do with that exercise, valuable as it is. Too much pressure right now and that shouldn't be what painting is about.

Day #4
The Great Blue Heron can be graceful or gawky but also very fierce, as this one was when I photographed him/her. I find them endlessly fascinating.

Day #5 This was once a Spotted Towhee. After a few hours it wasn't working out so well and I have to admit it was fun to transform it into this abstract.

It's official. I'm a lousy blogger. I'd make a resolution to do better but I know I wouldn't keep it so why set myself up for disappointment..hah. I've started Leslie Saeta's 30 paintings in 30 days again. Hopefully I will at least post them all. I was able to finish the exercise in September, much to my amazement, since it was my fourth try at doing it. So, here is day #1. My first attempt at a bee.
