View from St. Vincent's
8 x 10
Oil on Canvas Board

I started this plein air and finished it up in my studio.  It was the first time I had been to St. Vincent's, and what a great spot it is to paint!  Beautiful buildings and courtyards and excellent views.  I hadn't been doing any plein air painting for awhile and forgot how much fun it can be in spite of the challenge's....that can be part of the fun if I don't tighten up.  It was a lovely day.....and I found an owl feather....too!
Starting a four day work shop tomorrow with Tim Horn at China Camp in San Rafael.  We're also going to paint at Nicasio and The St. Vincent's School for Boys....all excellent plein air locations.  I've been Tim's assistant for this workshop and will continue throughout.  It's been interesting and fun.....and it isn't over yet!!  I look forward to seeing what I come up with, and if I've made any progress.  I do a lot more studio painting than plein air.  Very different.  When this workshop is over I'm going to start doing a 30 paintings series.  It's been recommended so many times I finally ordered the canvas boards and will get at it and stick to it...I know the value of it, having done a 100 drawings series before.  Working with Tim, who is an excellent teacher, will be a good kick start.

The Adumbration
8 x 10
Oil on Board
I love a mystery, a good story, corvids and all mythology attached to them, and the path, knowing we are all on one.  I wanted to bring it all together.   Darkness and light, mystery and revelation.
