Waiting
9 x 12
Oil on Board
$300

A friend of mine built this beautiful boat and was kind enough to let me paint it.  I wasn't feeling so good for a few days so I had to slow down and just be with what I was doing.  It was a very enjoyable experience.  Usually if I don't watch myself I am more focused on the outcome than the process, and that isn't so good, for me anyway.   I left out the oars to add some mystery and I was happy with the results.

Meet Peggy.  All the squirrels in our yard are Peggy.  She was so focused on eating this orange I was able to capture a great series of photos.  Never having painted a squirrel I decided to give it a try and was pleased with the results and sure I'll give it another try in the future.  I enjoy painting animals and trying to capture their essence.

I thought I wouldn't be doing any roses for awhile and then I did this.  Sometimes ya just can't help yourself.

Me and My Shadow
11 x 14
Oil on Board
The vase is vintage and the roses are elegant, aromatic roses from my garden. Painting white roses, for me, is challenging, but I was so drawn to the photo I took, and the shadow and light, that I went forward and this was the result.  I hope you enjoy viewing as much as I enjoyed the challenge of painting this scene.

I've been having fun with reflections since the first Daily Paintworks challenge a couple of weeks ago.  This was my second entry.  A little more colorful and maybe a touch looser.
